Even though I would prefer to get all this rain spaced out a little more, after the brutal drought last summer I'm not complaining. My rain tanks are overflowing, and all of my trees are pushing new growth. It seems our climate is shifting from blazing desert to tropical rainforest.
I was out of town in Odessa all week, and I had intended to give all my fruit trees a good summer pruning this weekend, and write a blog post about that. However, I could not have foreseen the unbelievable rainfall Houston has received! I came home to more water than I've seen since Hurricane Ike. My yard is a swamp, all my figs are souring on the trees, and it was all I could do to get the foot-high grass mowed.
